We are looking for a newly qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse / Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RMN / RNLD) to complete their Preceptorship programme at Cygnet Hospital Derby.

 

You’ll be working 38.5 hours a week at Cygnet Hospital Derby. The Hospital provides low secure and mental health rehabilitation care based on the Recovery Model.

 

We are looking for Preceptorship Nurses to join us and deliver the best quality of care within all of our wards, including Litchurch Ward, our male low secure ward, and the Wyvern Unit, our mental health rehabilitation service for men. As well as Alvaston Ward, our specialist low secure service for women with a primary diagnosis of personality disorder, which is one of the leading services of its kind in the East and West Midlands.

Your Day-to-Day…

  • Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments and observations
  • Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality
  • Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing
  • Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals
  • Administer prescribed medicines with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines

From £14.15 - £15.15 per hour (Depending on ward) + Enhancements

Enhancement rates:

  • Plus 10% Nights in week = £16.67 an hour
  • Plus 20% Weekend Days = £18.18 an hour
  • Plus 30% Weekend Nights = £19.70 an hour

Rising to £15.15 - £16.50 per hour (Depending on ward) + Enhancements, following the successful completion of Preceptorship programme and probation at 6 months

The programme includes...

  • Support from Cygnet’s Preceptorship Development Manager
  • Minimum two shifts per week working with your nominated preceptor
  • Preceptee supernumery 1st week on ward
  • Monthly CPD Days off the ward (specialist and general)
  • Clinical supervision, minimum 1 session per month
  • Managerial supervision, minimum 1 session per month
  • Preceptee Group Meetings on site and across the Cygnet group
  • Certificate and letter of completion
  • Excellent training opportunities
  • An action plan will then be created by you and your preceptor for the following six months to enhance identified strengths and address areas of development, taking you to your first annual appraisal.

 

You…

  • Newly qualified or due to qualify as a Registered Nurse Mental Health Nurse / RMN or Learning Disability / RNLD with a current Pin Number
  • The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits and demonstrate integrity in your role
  • A good understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and latest nursing practices
  • Compassion, resilience and a dedication to empower and support service user independence
