Base: Cygnet Hospital Woking

Ward based on: The Lodge

Responsible for: The post holder will support the OT provision on their chosen ward including supporting an Occupational Therapy Assistant and Activity Co-ordinator.

Responsible to: Head OT at Cygnet Woking (on site manager for supervision)

Hours: 40 hours per week

With over 150 OTs in the company, we also work together as a large team providing support to each other across the group, with various specialist interest groups to tap into, including Mental Health, Neuropsychiatry, Autism, Learning Disabilities and Sensory Integration, to name a few.

Overview of site/Ward: Cygnet Woking is a 91 bedded hospital with a variety of different wards here including locked rehab, low secure service, acute service and a female PICU. We have a designated qualified OT on each ward as well as OTAs on all long-stay wards and Activities Co-ordinators on our acute and PICU wards. We have a designated qualified OT and OTA on each ward as well as an Activities Co-ordinator supporting the activities around the hospital. We also have pets which staff and patients help to look after as part of our pet therapy programme.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

The Successful Candidate should be/have:

  • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • The ability to think outside of the box and be client centred in their care.

Requirements
