Broughton House is a 29 bed specialist residential service for adults with autism and who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.

We are looking for a professional, ambitious and confident Shift Leader who is able to lead on shifts and assist in the day to day management of the home, including supervision of staff and rotas, administration tasks and providing support to people who live at the service.

You’ll be working 12 hours shift patterns on a 4 on 4 off basis 7.45pm -7.45am and must be a car driver or have own transport due to the location of the home and lack of public transport. You will also recieve £100 per month travel allowance (up to  £1,200 per annum).

Your Day-to-Day…

  • Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all our service users, patients & residents
  • Take the lead on shifts and support unit manager run shifts
  • Undertake formal supervision of support workers and support induction for new workers
  • Provide guidance and encouragement through physical & emotional support
  • Learn about individuals’ specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
  • Assist residents with medical, hygiene and welfare needs and complete relevant administration and reports as required regarding medication or safeguarding
  • Safeguard residents
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for all

We're looking for people who have: 

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to be a good team player
  • Basic understanding / knowledge of learning disabilities and mental health.
  • Sensitive and intuitive with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
  • Helping to empower & support service user independence.
  • Flexible to work 12 hour shift patterns on a rota basis including weekends
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant care setting is preferable but not essential
