We are looking for a professional, confident Clinical Development Nurse to work across our services in West Yorkshire. You will be an experienced RMN / RNLD with advanced clinical skills and a strong ability to develop the skills and experience of our Nurses and Support Workers, working closely with local management teams to ensure continuous quality improvement and best practice is embedded.

The post holder will be a ‘role model’ for Nurses and Support Workers, with a physical presence on the wards. This role will also focus on the development of nurses and nursing practice with underpinning evidence and best practice guidance

You will be working full-time, please be aware this is a regional role and travelling between sites will be required.

Your day-to-day…

  • Assist the management teams through clinical practice development and quality improvement, and work closely with ward managers to identify development needs of the teams within their clinical areas
  • Undertake regular audits of care through monitoring and analysis of documentation, assessment and observation of the lived experience of patients
  • Work within services focusing on the development of nursing practice, through clinical leadership, coaching and mentoring.
  • Be responsible for a planned programme of support across your area of focus as determined by the annual plan for Quality and Compliance
  • Ensuring a robust teaching programme is developed across the sites ensuring the development of clinical staff
  • Ensure that quality improvement is embedded in practice through focused training and audit against required standards
  • Lead and facilitate relevant training programmes
  • Ensure up to date with evidence based practice relevant to services and assist in implementing new standards in practice

You will have…

  • A valid NMC pin number – experienced Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse – and drivers' licence
  • Excellent experience with Mental Health/Learning Disability/Neuropsychiatric service users.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work to deadlines to produce accurate assessments and high quality reports and care plans meeting deadlines. 
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & the latest nursing practices
  • You will be representing the Company in a positive and professional manner, whilst maintaining and extending contacts within the health care field.
